Purpose
This policy aims to prevent any form of modern slavery, including forced labour and child labour, across all activities and operations of NIKA PHARM SH.P.K. The company is committed to respecting human rights and to the safety, health and wellbeing of all its employees and of the third parties it cooperates with.
Definition of modern slavery
For the purposes of this policy, modern slavery includes:
- Forced labour: work performed by individuals without their free consent and under the threat of force, violence or other threats.
- Child labour: work performed by individuals under the legal working age, according to the legislation of the Republic of Kosovo and international conventions on child labour.
- Exploitation of workers: any form of economic exploitation that forces individuals to work under unacceptable conditions and violates their fundamental rights.
- Unfair working conditions: any form of unfair treatment of employees, including violations of the minimum wage and working hours.
Responsibilities of the company
NIKA PHARM SH.P.K. is committed to ensuring that no individual working for us, directly or indirectly, is involved in modern slavery, and we commit to:
- Compliance with laws and regulations: all the company's activities and practices comply fully with the laws of the Republic of Kosovo and international conventions, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions on child labour and forced labour.
- Verification of suppliers and business partners: the company carries out careful due diligence on its suppliers and partners, ensuring they respect workers' rights and do not engage in modern slavery practices.
- Employee training: the company provides regular training for employees and managers to recognise the signs of modern slavery and the methods for identifying and preventing it.
- Fair working conditions: the company ensures fair and safe working conditions, so that all employees have a healthy work environment, free from violence or abuse, with fair pay and working hours set by law.
- Reporting and monitoring: the company establishes a reliable reporting system for anyone suspected of being a victim of modern slavery. We ensure that every suspected case is reviewed and investigated in accordance with the law.
Responsibilities of employees and suppliers
Our employees and suppliers are obliged to respect this policy and to report any activity that may indicate signs of modern slavery. They must also ensure that all work practices and relationships comply with the principles of this document and with the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.
Sanctions
If any form of modern slavery is identified, the company will take disciplinary action, including termination of employment, cancellation of agreements with suppliers and any other measure necessary to address the violations.
